Introducing Jade

Jade, the founder of Summit First Aid, is a nurse and midwife with over 25years experience. Working mostly in rural areas, she has a comprehensive understanding of the emergency situations which can arise when help is not close at hand. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This nationally recognised course provides participants with the knowledge of how to respond in emergency situations and to apply appropriate first aid. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Assessing and responding to emergency situations

  • DRSABCD

  • CPR for adults and infants

  • AED use

  • Bleeding and shock

  • Asthma and anaphylaxis

  • Burns /choking/ fractures

  • Bites and stings

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

CPR is a lifesaving technique used globally to provide emergency resuscitation when a heart stops beating. This accredited course teaches CPR in line with the guidelines of the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and covers the following topics:

  • Assessing and responding to emergency situations

  • DRSABCD

  • CPR for adults and infants

  • AED use

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

This course provides care providers with the skills and knowledge to respond to emergency situations in a childcare or education setting. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Everything in First Aid

  • Focus on Children and Infants

  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis

  • Reporting events to parents and caregivers

  • Abiding by organisational or site procedures

Newborn First Aid (Non Accredited)

This popular course is offered to small groups of new or expectant parents to help prepare them to respond to emergency situations in the early stages of parenting a child. Also suitable for grandparents, this 2hr non-accredited course covers:

  • Safe sleeping

  • Daily newborn care

  • Infant CPR

  • Drowning/ choking/poisoning

  • Burns/ insect bites

  • Head & tissue injuries

  • Febrile convulsions

  • Allergic reactions

  • Rashes & common diseases
